Downloading External Templates
Compatibility: Sitefinity 3.7
From reading in the Sitefinity Forums and from our own experience, we found that the download for the Zip-file with the External Templates is quit often overlooked. This article will walk you through the steps of downloading the correct version for your Sitefinity installation.
Follow the three steps below to download the templates:
- Check your Sitefinity version.
- Log in to your Sitefinity account.
- Download the External Templates ZIP file.
Check Sitefinity version
Open a page that was created with Sitefinity in a browser. Now view the source for that page and look for a meta-tag named Generator. Look at the content-attribute:

Login to Sitefinity account
Now that you know your own Sitefinity version, log into your Sitefinity account. Go to www.sitefinity.com and click on the Login link in the top right corner. Enter your Email and Password and click the Login button.
Download External Templates
Now go to your own account by clicking the Your Account link in the top right corner.
On your account homepage there is a linkbar with a section called Your Products. Click on the Downloads link in this section.
On the Downloads page, your products will be listed. Your product will contain a Download also link.
The complete list of other available downloads will show. Choose the Zip-file with the correct .NET version and click on it to download.
Save and extract the file. You are now ready to start using the External Templates.
